Works by Katherine KaneTraining The City Dog was written to provide urban dog owners with tips about handling situations they face with their dogs on a daily basis. It discusses high-rise housebreaking; helping older dogs adjust to city life; how to deal with elevators, fire alarms, and fireworks; how to navigate city streets, farmer's markets, festivals, and street fairs; how to keep our dogs safe and healthy in the city, and many other situations. The paperback edition is available on Amazon. It is also available on Amazon for your Kindle, on Barns&Noble for your Nook, and in the iBookstore for your iPad. A pocket edition, The City Dog: Dog Training Tips For City Living, is available for your iPhone.
Making The Dog Decision will be available in the spring of 2011. It walks the reader through the many things to think about when deciding whether or not to bring a dog into your household. It discusses the many ways you can get a dog, including buying a new puppy, adopting a dog from a shelter or a rescue organization, or fostering a dog for someone who needs a temporary place for their dog. We hope that this book will make a contribution to reducing the huge number of dogs that are either abandoned or given up to shelters because their new owners found that they were just not ready to own a dog.
